University professor of Social Psychology at the University of Girona. Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, and co-director of Liberi, Research Group on Children, Youth and Community (www.udg.edu/liberi). The main areas of research are those related to children and young people in contexts of vulnerability, protection system, subjective well-being and children’s rights. She has published books and articles in several languages, including numerous articles in indexed scientific journals and prestigious international publishers. She has been taking part for long in competitive research both at European and national level, as well as in applied research with agreements with public administrations and third sector entities.

“Factors facilitating the school inclusion of children in the protection system”
This presentation focuses on the educational paths of children in the protection system, whether in residential or family accommodation, as well as on their transition to adult life. Studies show how the population in foster care runs the greatest risk of school dropout. Therefore, it is necessary not only to analyze what factors influence their school situation, but also to set the guidelines that can facilitate the necessary changes in policies and professional practice with the aim of implementing substantial improvements in their school lives.
